Abstract

Border security in Pakistan has been hugely impacted by the emergence of globalized militancy. It discusses various dimensions of this impact focusing on the motivations, trends and implications of the border militancy in Pakistan. It examines the historical background, geographic and international aspects which have added to the current security issues. By assessing the active roles of leading militant outfits along with state and non-state actors, as well as geo-political interests in the region, this study tries to develop a comprehensive picture regarding the potential security challenges at Pakistan's borders and insights into strategies for their management.
