Abstract

This study examined the mediating role of psychological well-being in the relationship between organizational support and job performance while investigating the influence of professional development opportunities among employees in public and private organizations across Punjab and Sindh, Pakistan. A quantitative cross-sectional design was implemented with an online structured questionnaire utilizing adopted measurement scales. Data were collected via Google Forms from 477 employees through convenience sampling. The data were screened in Microsoft Excel and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics. The analysis consisted of descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, multiple regression, independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, and mediation analysis. The results showed that organizational support had a positive effect on job performance. Psychological well-being was an important mediating variable. Professional development opportunities positively impacted employee performance. The study offers a valuable addition to the existing literature on organizational behavior and human resource management by providing empirical evidence to the supportive workplace practices and positive employee performance relationship. The findings also have a practical impact for organizational leaders and human resource practitioners on the design and implementation of employee support systems, well-being, and professional development to improve the effectiveness and sustain the performance of the workforce within the organization.
