Abstract

This study examines the impact of modern technology on the effectiveness of Islamic Da’wah in the contemporary digital age. Islamic Da’wah has always been based on inviting people to the way of Allah with wisdom, good instruction, and sound knowledge. However, the rapid development of digital platforms, social media, mobile applications, video-sharing websites, and online communication tools has transformed the methods through which Islamic teachings are delivered and received. This research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach to explain how modern technology expands the reach of Da’wah, increases accessibility, supports audience engagement, and allows Islamic messages to cross geographical and linguistic boundaries.

At the same time, the study analyzes the challenges connected with digital Da’wah, including misinformation, weak religious content, superficial understanding, lack of scholarly supervision, and misuse of social media platforms. The applied part of the study focuses on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, and other digital communication tools used for spreading Islamic teachings. The findings show that modern technology has significantly improved the effectiveness of Islamic Da’wah when used responsibly. However, effective digital Da’wah requires proper planning, Islamic ethical guidelines, qualified preachers, and verification of religious content. The study concludes that technology should support Da’wah but should not replace authentic scholarship, wisdom, and direct moral example.
