DIPLOMATIC QUARTERS: ARCHITECTURAL PLANNING AND INTERNATIONAL IMPACT
Abstract
This paper explores the architectural planning of diplomatic quarters as a reflection of national identity and international presence. Historically overlooked in academic discourse, diplomatic districts pose unique challenges at the intersection of architecture, urban planning, and international relations. Through selected case studies, the research analyzes how diplomacy influences the spatial organization, size, and design strategies of diplomatic quarters. The study highlights the shift from informal embassy placement to intentional urban frameworks that symbolize state power and prestige. A qualitative and comparative approach reveals the dynamic relationship between diplomatic strategies and the urban-architectural evolution of these zones, offering insights into their planning, function, and global impact.
