Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe a model that would improve the current situation of the National Program of Action Platforms and citizen participation in the District of Piura, 2025, with the aim of optimizing ineffective action platforms with poor institutional coordination. The research used a non-experimental, descriptive, quantitative approach. 384 inhabitants of the 26 de October district in Piura were surveyed using non-probability sampling. The instrument consisted of two Likert-type questionnaires validated by experts. The data were processed in SPSS 26 and analyzed with descriptive statistics and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, which indicated the absence of a normal distribution, among the results obtained, most participants positively valued the management of the platforms in areas such as human development, economic inclusion and improvement of the environment; citizen participation showed a positive assessment in public space, political action, plurality and communicative power; the data show a positive trend in community collaboration in local public management; neutrality challenges were identified in some items, indicating a lack of information on participatory mechanisms; the application of the model will optimize inter-institutional processes, improve the efficiency of the program and strengthen participatory democracy in Piura.
